Giving

First and foremost, God wants us to give because it shows we recognize Him as the true Lord of our lives.

"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning." James 1:17 NKJV

Everything we possess and everything we receive is from God. Therefore, when we give, we are returning a portion of the abundance He has already provided.

Giving is a way to express our gratitude and praise to God. It originates from a heart of worship that understands everything we have and give already belongs to the Lord.

Tithing is a biblical principle where God asks us to give the first 10% of our income. Additionally, Scripture encourages us to honor God with the firstfruits of our increase, and He promises to fill our barns with plenty.

Proverbs 3:9-10 (NIV):

Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.

Malachi 3:10 (NIV):

"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it."
